A Message from Our Volunteer Tutor!
Hello! My name is Soojin Kim, I’m in 10th grade, and I’ve been volunteering at Give Chances for almost 2 years now. I’m a volunteer tutor, so some of the things I do include helping the students complete their homework, practice math, and read books. Give Chances is significant to me because it is a community that I really love and appreciate being a part of. I’ve learned so much at Give Chances, and I’ve been exposed to so many different people whose backgrounds and circumstances differ a lot from mine, so volunteering at Give Chances has been overall a very eye-opening experience for me. I like volunteering at Give Chances because it’s a very warm and welcoming environment, so I really enjoy working with the students, the lead teachers, and my volunteer peers. I think people should donate to Give Chances because Give Chances is essentially working to break down barriers of privilege that exist within our communities, our state, and our society, just like how the Joyful Learning Education Program aims to provide high-quality education to children who come from low-income immigrant families. So I think Give Chances has a great mission, and you’d be supporting a great cause if you do donate! But you don’t need to make a big donation in order to make a big difference. Please support Give Chances! Thank you!
