An Eye Opening Experience Hyun Cho Kim (11th Grade, Cresskill High School)

The past few months volunteering at Give Chances has been an eye opening experience. The support and encouragement the organization and the staff give to students and volunteers has been great and touching to see. They provide fun and creative activities for students and seminars to help volunteers with our future. The students themselves bring a youthful joy to the organization. Every week, their stories and energy make me look forward to our sessions and ignite a little youthful side in me :D Although not face to face, the virtual meetings with the students allow me to interact with the children and learn from them activities I had not known about (including a fun way to draw a piñata). From the DD Artists exhibition to supporting students and volunteers, Give Chances has been a great experience and will continue to be one, not only for me, but definitely for other volunteers and staff as well. Hopefully in a few months I will be able to meet my students in person!
