COVID-19 Food Drive Continues..
After hearing about the difficult situations the students from Joyful Learning Children’s program were facing due to unemployment caused by COVID-19, we have been regularly donating food boxes to each family. Not only did the parents of these students expressed their gratitude for the food box donations, but they also thanked Give Chances for giving them hope in the midst of this pandemic. Since May, we have been supporting food boxes not only to families that were connected to the Joyful Learning Children’s program, but we have also extended our support to friends and families of the participants in the local area. A total of 20 families in need in Palisades Park and Hackensack, New Jersey, were supported during this time. While we supported the families on a weekly basis, it was a time of encouragement to each other as well. We would say, "we can get through this together." to each other Give chances is planning to continue these donations during these desperate times until the month of August.
