Parent Education Seminar Wrap-Up: A Valuable Session on Children’s Health and Focus

On February 26, Give Chances successfully hosted the seminar “What Parents Need to Know About Children's Health: The Secret to Focus and Mental Well-being.” Dr. Kyung-Ah Lim, a Ph.D. in Medical Nutrition, led the session, offering in-depth insights on nutrition and lifestyle habits that support children’s healthy growth and academic success.

The seminar covered the impact of diet on children's mental health and academic performance, nutrition strategies to enhance focus, stress management techniques, and addiction prevention methods—all practical tips that parents can apply in daily life. Many attendees expressed great interest, with one parent remarking, "I never realized how much food influences my child’s emotions and learning ability."

Following the presentation, participants had the opportunity to sample nutritious, traditional herbal dishes, providing a hands-on learning experience in developing healthy eating habits. The event also fostered a warm and engaging atmosphere with fresh coffee and pastries provided by Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative (BVMI), allowing parents to connect, ask questions, and network.

All proceeds from the seminar’s registration fees will be donated to basic income child care and special education programs for children with developmental disabilities, ensuring that more children benefit from these initiatives.

Give Chances remains committed to providing educational programs that support both parents and children, helping them grow together. Stay tuned for more opportunities to learn and connect!
