End-of-School Year Festivities at Give Chances' Learning Centers

As the school year comes to a close, we couldn't be prouder of the incredible journey our after-school students have embarked on and the remarkable progress they have made. It is with immense joy that we share the highlights of our end-of-school year celebrations at our Palisades Park and Parsippany centers. These festivities not only mark a milestone in our students' academic journeys but also serve as a testament to the importance of Give Chances' mission.

Throughout the year, our dedicated team of volunteers and lead teachers has worked tirelessly to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for our students. Witnessing their growth and witnessing their resilience has been truly inspiring. From academic achievements to personal development, we have seen our students thrive in various aspects of their lives.

One of our passionate adult volunteers summed it up perfectly, stating, "Seeing the students grow and thrive brings great meaning to the work we do at Give Chances." Their words reflect the heartwarming impact our organization has on the lives of these young individuals.

The end-of-school year celebrations held at our Palisades Park and Parsippany centers were filled with joy, laughter, and a strong sense of achievement. 

As we look back on the end-of-school year celebrations, we are filled with gratitude for the unwavering support of our volunteers, donors, and community members. It is through their generosity and belief in our mission that we are able to create these transformative experiences for our students.

At Give Chances, we firmly believe that every child deserves an opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances. We will continue to empower and uplift our students, providing them with the tools and resources they need to build a brighter future.

Apply for the 2023-2024
Chance Makers Leadership Council Now!

We are excited to announce that applications for the 2023-2024 Chance Makers Leadership Council are now open!

At Give Chances, we firmly believe that leadership is a crucial skill for creating positive change. The Chance Makers Volunteer Leadership Council is specifically designed to help students develop the skills and qualities needed to become effective leaders in their communities. By joining this esteemed council, members will embark on a transformative journey of personal growth, empowerment, and community engagement.

Throughout the school year, students will participate in an enriching curriculum centered around monthly themes such as Team Building, Ethics and Integrity, Public Speaking, Grassroots Organizing, and more. Our program offers a variety of leadership workshops, engaging guest speaker events, and hands-on activities designed to enhance their leadership capabilities. The pinnacle of the program will be the Annual Panelist Discussion Event, where council members will have the opportunity to recruit mentors, plan event logistics, and network with peers and professionals.

As a member of the Chance Makers Leadership Council, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of leadership while developing practical skills and experience in leadership and service. These invaluable experiences will equip them to make a positive impact in their community and become an effective leader in future endeavors.

Here are some benefits of Chance Makers membership:

• Cultivation of leadership skills and teamwork experiences
• Exposure to diverse perspectives and experiences
• Development of time-management and organizational skills
• Opportunities to network with peers and community leaders
• Potential to make a positive impact on the community and build a sense of civic responsibility
• Enhancement of college and job applications by demonstrating leadership and community involvement
• Potential qualification for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award with volunteer hours
• Potential Recommendation Letters for College and/or Internships by Program Coordinator

If you have volunteered with Give Chances for at least six months, want to improve your leadership skills, and have a keen dedication to service, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

To ensure consideration, we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible. Please be aware that applications will not be reviewed once all seats for the cohort have been filled.
