Learning About Teeth Through Hands-On Fun!

Last week, students at our Joyful Learning Palisades Park location had an exciting and educational experience learning about dental health! With the guidance of Haeum Oh, a high school volunteer from Leonia High School and an aspiring dentist, our young learners engaged in interactive crafts and experiments to better understand how to take care of their teeth.

During the session, students built teeth models using marshmallows to visualize the structure of teeth and their placement. They also made their own toothpaste, learning how to clean their teeth effectively. Haeum shared her knowledge about proper brushing techniques and the importance of oral hygiene, making the lesson both fun and informative.

By incorporating hands-on activities into learning, students not only gained valuable knowledge about dental health but also developed an interest in science and self-care.

A huge thank you to Haeum for her dedication and for inspiring our students with her passion for dentistry! Her work is a perfect example of how our volunteers and young leaders make a meaningful impact on the next generation.
