Joyful Learning Series:
Give Chances Expands STEM Programming with Robotics Classes

Thanks to the NJ Office of Faith-Based Initiatives' STE(A)M grant and the support of 'The R Child', we're thrilled to announce the launch of our new robotics program. This program curriculum was designed by The R Child to inspire and engage students in the world of technology, engineering, and innovation. Recently, our classes kicked off at the Leonia branch, and we have collaborated with The R Child to deliver the program successfully.

In the spirit of fostering creativity and hands-on learning, our robotics classes are structured much like LEGO-building sessions. Students follow step-by-step instructions on their iPads, just like reading a manual, as they collaborate with friends to construct their very own robots.

One of our young learners, full of enthusiasm, created a remarkable Windmill robot. This robot resembles a colorful caterpillar, complete with wheels and a motor for seamless movement.

What's even more heartwarming is that our volunteer tutors have been actively involved in guiding our younger friends through the process of building these amazing robots. Their dedication and support, alongside the invaluable partnership with The R Child, have made the experience even more enjoyable for everyone involved.

We've observed that our male students, in particular, have taken a keen interest in the robotics classes. They're finding immense joy in the process of building and programming these fantastic creations, which is a delight to witness.

This is just the beginning of our journey into the world of robotics, and we can't wait to see what our talented students will achieve as they continue to explore, learn, and create.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to OFBI, The R Child, and their unwavering support for making this incredible opportunity possible. We look forward to sharing more exciting updates with you soon!

The R Child is a STEM-accredited program that merges a Learning Center, offering early age, engineering, and technology classes for kids ages 0 to 16, with a Discovery Center, a cutting-edge STEAM playspace for kids ages 0 to 14.
