In the fall, Give Chances will assist students with their homework as the students adjust to a new school year of remote learning. Give Chances will also provide English and math enrichment as well as library sessions. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, public libraries as well as school libraries have closed indefinitely. So, students can only read and study English through online libraries such as Epic or Razkids. Children from low-income immigrant families have especially struggled with the transition from in-person learning to remote learning since it has limited the amount of time they have to interact with their teachers and friends. Also, at home they speak their mother tongues, so they are speaking English less and less. Therefore, Give Chances hopes to provide these children with more books to read so that they can enhance their general knowledge, creativity, and language skills.
