Joyful Learning Xmas Concert 2019

Joyful Learning Xmas Concert 2019

Give Chances hosted a Christmas Concert on last Saturday (December 7th, 2019). Students of Give Chances sang songs, recited poems, and had a time to perform what they have practiced and prepared throughout the semester. What made this concert so special was that the children of Palisades Park Learning Center and Hackensack Learning Center met together for the first time and performed together. The parents, volunteer tutors, and teachers who have dedicated their time and effort for the Joyful Learning program were there to celebrate with the children.

The concert started with an opening speech by Dr. Kim, the Executive Director of Give Chances. Then, to encourage and recognize our children’s unique achievements, we have awarded each student according to their own successes throughout the semester. Following was the reciting of the poems written by the children themselves with eight songs that were sang together as a unison.

Besides that, we also had time to appreciate volunteers for their hard work and dedication. This year, a total of 8 volunteers tutors received the President’s Volunteer Service Awards, and four volunteers received the Give Chances volunteer award, which was a pleasant moment for all. The Christmas Concert, which was attended by about 60 people, warmed our hearts on a cold winter day.
