My Give Chances Volunteer Experience _ Patricia Kim (10th grade, Leonia High School)
Volunteering to help younger students out has been a wonderful experience for me and it has been a privilege for me to have this opportunity. Although teaching them and keeping them engaged was difficult at times because of the many skills I was lacking in and had no prior teaching experience, it was an amazing experience to work with them. I learned so much from my students as much as I taught them. I am glad to connect with them and have a strong relationship with them. Through volunteering, I want to make a big difference in my student’s lives and hope that my help would give a huge impact to them. Watching them grow physically and mentally and seeing many improvements from the kids made me feel proud and how volunteering at Give Chances was worth it.
