New Summer Youth Mentoring /Tutoring Program

New Summer Youth Mentoring /Tutoring Program

Give Chances provided a platform for two youth and a mentor/tutor to meet three times a week during the summer. At 10am, all three students and tutor met to build the foundation of writing. The youth mentor program is to support our youth from low-income and/or immigrant families to be successful in academic performance, but also to provide social support through a mentoring relationship. At the end of the program, one of our participants shared that “ For the past 6 weeks, from learning about different verb tenses to any other grammar rules, I was initially challenged, yet I felt accomplished by the end”. Give Chances envisions to continue this program during the fall semester of 2020.
