Give Chances has started a music class last Thursday (Mar 21st), as a part of our Joyful Learning After-school program. For the first day of the class, each student sang in front of the class individually to check the color and range of their voices. They selected either “Happy Birthday to you” or “We wish you a Merry Christmas” to sing. It was lovely to see our students sing the birthday songs to the other student.
The students truly encouraged each other to sing in front of the class when someone hesitated to sing alone. Students also learned how to relax their body and throat before singing, and listened to the song, “Edelweiss”, which they will be practicing as a choir. Fun elements such as using a toy microphone and warming up with “Super duper double bubble gum” phrase made our students enjoy the class and stay engaged until the end. Our students actively participated in the class and showed so much enthusiasm in learning. They even continued singing and humming the day after!
We are looking forward to the music program with Ms. Wendy and the children at the Joyful Learning After-school Program. More ‘Super duper double bubble gum’s to come!
