Diverting and Fulfilling Work Yechan Lee (10th Grade, Leonia High School)

The experience I had with Give Chances has been rather fun so far. Being a source of guidance towards children isn’t what I expected to be a couple years ago but here we are now. I have formed a lot of friendships with the kids here with the time I have spent with them. My experiences here have taught me a lot in my path to become a responsible citizen and I am eternally grateful for that. The children here are bright and they are a constant source of laughter. Watching them improve as you mentor them truly gives you a proud feeling of accomplishment and I believe that to be the main reward for volunteering, that and bantaring with the kids over their childish whims. It truly is an unique experience that is as fun as it is fulfilling. It’s wonderful to  still be enjoying oneself while still helping out the community and I believe that volunteering does just that.
