Meeting the Tiger Within Us:
A Minhwa Project by DDartists

As global interest in Korean culture continues to grow—especially with the success of the film K-Pop Demon Hunters—our DDartists, a group of talented artists with developmental disabilities, took part in a special Minhwa (traditional Korean folk art) project inspired by the movie’s themes.

In this project, the artists explored two iconic Minhwa symbols: the tiger and the magpie. Through their own unique styles and artistic interpretations, they reimagined these traditional figures in deeply personal ways.

Some tigers turned out bold and fierce, while others were gentle and endearing. The magpies, too, came to life in vibrant colors and imaginative forms, each piece reflecting the personality and emotion of its creator.

This experience went far beyond simply recreating traditional art. It was a journey into Korean cultural heritage—an opportunity for the artists to connect with tradition, express their creativity, and share Korean art with a global audience.

We hope these Minhwa works, created with heart and hands by our DDArtists, continue to inspire others around the world.
