Celebrating Lunar New Year at Give Chances New York!

The Give Chances New York branch successfully hosted a Lunar New Year celebration, bringing together participants of all backgrounds to experience Korean traditions. Attendees learned the proper way to bow for the New Year, played Jegichagi (Korean shuttlecock kicking), created traditional crafts, and enjoyed delicious Korean rice cakes.

For many, it was their first time engaging with Korean traditional games, and they embraced the experience with enthusiasm. Non-Korean participants were eager to learn, while volunteers shared how meaningful it was to introduce and celebrate their culture with others. One volunteer reflected, “It was so rewarding to experience and share Korean culture firsthand!”

This event was more than just a celebration—it was a chance to connect generations, foster cultural exchange, and build a sense of community. Give Chances remains committed to providing programs that bring people together through cultural appreciation and shared experiences. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a success!
