On Saturday, April 3, a Youth Mentoring Seminar took place for all Give Chances volunteers and other teenagers. The guest speaker, Dan Park Dan is a Cloud Program Manager at Microsoft and has previously worked at Facebook as a Data Center Analyst and P&G as an Electrical Engineer. Dan shared both his professional and academic experiences. He gave tips on how to successfully navigate through both college and career. He also provided tips on how to choose the right major and career path for the future. More than 40 high school students joined the meeting, which was held on Zoom.
Many students found the seminar helpful because they received words of advice and encouragement from someone who had once been in their shoes. During our Q&A portion, Dan answered questions regarding college preparation and volunteering. We hope our volunteers had many takeaways from the seminar and maybe even discovered what job they want to pursue! We also hope that our volunteers will look forward to more seminars like this because we are planning to have more in the future!
